The Library Committee is responsible for advising Council on all matters relating to the Society's collections of books and periodicals, and its archives. In addition, this includes responsibility for promoting the history of the Society.

Terms of Reference

1. Exchanges of the Society's periodicals for others;Facilities for members using the LMS Library;
2. Acquisitions for the Library and for the Archives;
3. Maintenance, preservation and use of the Archives;
4. Negotiating with whatever organisations hold all or part of the Society's collection of books and periodicals.
   [Currently University College London Library; there is an annual meeting with the UCL Library under present arrangements.]

Dates of Meetings
The committee meets once annually, usually in September or October. This meeting coincides with a meeting with staff from University College London Library.

Events
It is anticipated that the Committee will begin to organise an annual evening seminar relating to the history of mathematics and the development of the LMS.
