Objectives
This grant scheme is designed to enable and motivate interest and involvement in mathematics from KS1 to PG level and beyond, by:
Mathematical Activities supported have included the costs of refreshments for public lectures, materials for careers exhibitions, tutors’ costs for masterclasses and prizes for mathematical competitions. Applications for support of activities other than those listed are welcomed.
Eligibility
Anyone working/based in the UK is eligible to apply for a grant. If the applicant is not a member then the application must be countersigned by an LMS member or another suitable person such as a Head teacher or senior colleague.

Each application should explain how the activity will:
(a) reach out to a broad community;
(b) clearly promote maths and the image of maths;
(c) show educational merit;
(d) benefit from the contribution made by a grant.
Value of award
The normal limit for a grant will be £600. Retrospective awards will not normally be considered.
Form of application
Application forms can be downloaded here in PDF and Word format. Completed forms should be returned to: Education Grants, The London Mathematical Society, De Morgan House, 57-58 Russell Square, London WC1B 4HS. (email: education@lms.ac.uk). Recipients of grants will be asked for a report briefly confirming the expenses incurred.
Deadlines and decisions timetable
Applications will be considered by the Society’s Education Committee and the deadlines for receipt are 31 August, 30 November, 31 January and 30 April. Applications will be acknowledged by email.
Applicants will normally be informed of the Committee’s decision within six weeks of the above deadlines.
