The LMS Education Committee is pleased to announce this in-person CPD training event designed to provide advice and guidance on developing a mathematics scholarship project in higher education. The event will also mark the launch of the Education Committee’s new project grant schemes supporting teaching and scholarship in higher education. It will also provide practical advice and suggestions for those interested in applying.
This interactive day will feature workshop-style sessions and talks covering the following.
- How to plan a scholarship project.
- Designing effective evaluation and dissemination strategies.
- Gaining appropriate ethics approval.
- How to submit a well-formed grant application.
The event is aimed at individuals involved in higher education mathematics interested in teaching and scholarship activities. Attendees may have some prior experience of developing scholarship projects or be new to this area.
Travel Funding
Limited funding is available to support attendees’ travel costs, where they are unable to access any funding from their institutions. Please contact education@lms.ac.uk to enquire further. Support for travel will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.

The building has step-free access to the lower ground floor via an external lift. The Hardy Room, located on a raised area within the lower ground floor, is also accessible via a lift.
