Collaborative Teaching & Scholarship Project Grants

Aim of the Scheme

The central aim of this grant scheme is to support the ‘Pathways in Mathematics’ strategic goal of the LMS Strategy 2023–2028. As such it seeks to:
‘Promote the importance of mathematics and the provision of opportunities for those that wish to study and develop a career in mathematics and its applications’.
The scheme provides funding for scholarship projects undertaken by colleagues who are building a teaching and scholarship profile within higher education mathematics and its applications.

There is the possibility of the grant being transferred to a co-organiser within the same organisation, with the agreement of the Education Committee.

  • Applications must clearly demonstrate how ethics approval will be obtained for the project. Ethics approval must be obtained for all collaborating institutions.
  • Applications must include a detailed strategy for project evaluation and dissemination of outcomes.
  • The application should include letters of support from the Heads of Department of each institution involved, supporting the application and confirming that the applicant and their collaborators will be afforded time to work on the project as part of their core workload allocation for the duration of the project.
