The London Mathematical Society is delighted to announce that EPSRC funding will support the LMS–Sheffield Mathematical Symposia from 2026 to 2030, ensuring the continuation of these prestigious international research meetings at the University of Sheffield.
As part of this exciting development, the Call for Expressions of Interest is now open for the 2027 LMS–Sheffield Symposium. These symposia bring together leading mathematicians from around the world to explore cutting-edge topics and foster collaboration.
Key Details:
- Deadline for EOIs: 15 December 2025
- Funding per event: £50,000–£60,000
- Event window: July to early September 2027
EOIs should outline the proposed topic, list potential organisers and key participants, and indicate any plans for a summer school or research incubator. While EOIs are not required for submitting a full proposal, they help the LMS gauge interest. Full proposals will be due by 31 January 2026.
