Each symposium will receive circa £50,000 in core funding, supported by EPSRC, LMS, ICMS, INI, and the University of Sheffield.
The LMS invites full proposals for the 2028 LMS-Sheffield Mathematical Symposium, part of a long-standing series of international research meetings. Events will be held at the University of Sheffield from July to early September and are expected to attract a significant UK audience.
The Society welcomes proposals from research areas that have not recently organised a Symposium. The lists of planned LMS-Sheffield Symposia and previous LMS-Bath Symposia are available to view from here: https://www.lms.ac.uk/events/mathematical-symposia#Sheffield
Proposals should include:
- Scientific aims and novelty
- Organisers and key participants (with attention to diversity)
- Plans for a summer school or research incubator
- Potential for additional funding or an industry day
Proposals will undergo peer review, with final decisions expected in June 2027.
