The Observatory for Mathematical Education (University of Nottingham) has launched the Review of Mathematical Education 2025.
Between 2023 and 2025 the Observatory undertook a large-scale programme of longitudinal research to support the improvement of mathematical education in England and deliver long-term benefits for individuals and society. Its fundamental aim was to understand England's national system of mathematical education. The Review presents the high-level findings from this research. In addition, it reports on observations on mathematical education from the general election of 2025 to the summer of 2025, highlighting strategic decisions that impacted on mathematical education. It also presents analysis of trends in mathematical education, building on the Observatory's earlier report The Mathematics Pipeline in England (March 2023).
