My Mathematics Success Story is...

My name is Eslene Makoundou and I’m a first year PhD student at the University of Portsmouth. I graduated there after 3 years of studying maths. I decided to do a PhD because I wanted a new challenge in my life. I like learning and using my skills. I am aiming to become either a lecturer or researcher. I believe that a problem can only be solved if we break it down and make it as simple as we can. Simplicity makes life easier! Outside life at uni I go to the gym, draw, and play the flute.
