The LMS Popular Lectures present stimulating topics in mathematics and its applications to a broad audience. They are designed to be intelligible to a non-specialist audience, although A-levels are useful. The lecturers are always chosen for their mathematical distinction and their ability to communicate. There are two lectures and the event is held annually, given at two venues in the UK.
The LMS is moving to making the Popular Lectures available free of charge on the internet where possible.
Most of the lectures from 2008 - 2015 are available free of charge on YouTube. Further lectures will be added to Youtube in due course, subject to permission to publish. The older popular lectures, which were filmed at Imperial College, have also been made available, free of charge.
As a result of the move to putting the lectures online we will no longer be producing DVDs for sale.
