The 2022 LMS Prize winners were announced at the Society Meeting on Friday 1 July 2022. The LMS extends its congratulations to this year’s prize winners and for their continued contributions to mathematics.
The London Mathematical Society has elected the following people to Honorary Membership of the Society in 2022:
Professor Jennifer Tour Chayes, University of California, Berkeley, USA
Professor Vladimir Drinfeld, Harry Pratt Judson Distinguished Professor at the University of Chicago, Illinois, USA

As many members will know, in January 2020 the government and UKRI announced £300 million in additional funding for mathematical sciences, of which £124 million has been allocated so far. In March of this year, via the Protect Pure Maths campaign, the UK’s mathematical societies called for the £300 million to be honoured.
The Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology has launched a campaign to recruit 3 new members to the Council. The campaign is open for applications until Monday 20th June.
